The following youtube clip was from a friends facebook wallpost, I thought some of you may find it quite informative and useful.
As for my own opinions on it I completely agree with what they're saying with loudness compared to songs of the 80's with the exception to electronic/trance/techno and that kind of stuff which has turned more digital rather than standard recording drums/etc.
